What are some tips for preventing
pests or insects from invading the home?
“Make sure your house is
secure and its doors and
windows fit tightly without noticeable gaps. Store
fire-wood as far away
from your house as possible,
and bring in only what you will burn."
“Keep foliage, greenery and shrubs
from touching the house. Also,
consider using crushed stone
instead of mulch, which harbors
insects because it retains
moisture.”
“Maintain your home.
Moisture problems — a leaky roof, door gutter or window — will attract insects.”
Describe the worst insect or pest
infestation you’ve ever encountered.
“One house was so bad that
when I opened the door,
cockroaches fell on my head
and body. In a situation like
that, the people carry
roaches to work, school,
restaurants, etc.”
“We don’t like the bad flea
infestations because we get
attacked when we go in.
The worst is when we treat empty
rental properties and fleas
haven’t eaten in a long time
and attack when we walk in.”
“It’s hard to say which is
the worst — a house full
of German cockroaches,
yellow jackets or fleas.
I think my least favorite
would have to be cockroaches.”
